I'm a relative newcomer to ESP8266 but have decent experience with the Arduino platform. I'm using the NodeMCU 12E board for an application that requires serial over USB and 10 digital outputs.
The pin diagram shows D9 and D10 used for TX/RX or as GPIO, but when I set pin mode for these pins as output, it seems to disable serial over USB. Is there a way to force these pins to behave as GPIO?
