[The units below are junk. I could program them with Arduino IDE, but could not flash espBasic. I bought the below units from HiLetgo and they work great

I am new to this platform and recently bought two Nodemcu units from amazon

I was trying to load espbasic on them but I am not having success. The strange thing is the AP only shows up after I click "format flash". I have tried this on both v2 and v3 tools. I can only connect to the AP with my android devices and not with my windows machines. When connected with droid to the AP i get connection refused response from browser while trying to connect to hhtp://192.168.4.1. When connected my IP is 192.168.4.2. I have tried chrome and Firefox on the droids with no success.
I am starting to wonder if i got junk units
