#68851 Information around the esp8266 timers is rather confusing and the timers themselves are rather strange. One also has to be careful because they are also potentially used to provide functionality like the PWM.

This thread http://bbs.espressif.com/viewtopic.php?t=2537 on the espressif board gives a bit more info including a spreadsheet giving some more details on the registers.

#68862 Hi, there is very little information about the timers and what information there is all suggests that most of the time they needed for other applications. I have opted to find other ways of achieving the same result. This might seem a little strange coming from AVRs but the ESP can run at 160MHz and you can get lots done long hand at that speed.

Rudy has been about and offering help around here as long as I can remember, as the site has become busier some of his answers may have become shorter but he still gets the point across.

Hope that helps.

#70411 If you're looking for contact with Espressif, you're wrong here.

And also if you're looking for detailed information on the timers: good luck.
