- Wed Aug 09, 2017 5:45 pm #68937 I am new to the IOT. I've played with Raspberry Pi and Uno's and Particle Photons a little bit. What I need to do is find a way to interface with a legacy device that can be controlled via a DB9 serial connection. I would like to use that connection to interface with my home automation server (Hass.io) over the local network via WiFi. I have all the serial commands for the unit. I need an suggested microcontroller and firmware to get it done.

Any help?

- Tue Aug 15, 2017 7:20 pm #69110 esp-link is a transparent UART to WiFi bridge. It might do what you want. You may also need an RS-232 voltage level converter.
