I'm a newbie with Arduino and especially the ESP8266 and need help. I have an Arduino Uno R3 and separately purchased a Arduino ESP8266 WiFi Shield Version 1.0 by Wang Tongze. This board looks very well done , fits perfectly as a shield on top of the Uno, carries the AI Thinker model ESP8266Mod chip, has 4 dip switches onboard, but I can find virtually zero documentation on this board anywhere on line. As printed on the board, the web site for support is elecshop.ml, but is apparently not working. Using the Arduino IDE 1.8.3 version.
I mounted the 8266 shield to the Uno with all 4 dip switches OFF on the 8266 board. When powering up the unit together, the red power LED is lit brightly, the AP and STA red LEDs are lit and the blue LED on the 8266 chip is lit. but I can't see any WiFi signal from the device using a WiFi analyzer on my phone.
Any help getting this shield working with my Uno would be greatly appreciated.
