Like schufti says: the link you're giving us makes absolutely no sense in this thread.
In you're opening posts you're also even mentioning:

The PIN layouts are very confuing to me (DC, A0, SDA, SCK, ...)

which would indicate it's an SPI controlled display, not I2C.
(Though there are 0.96" displays like you're linking to, that use SPI, so...)

Please clear things up, so we can get you going.

I do not test with Sumotoy drivers, but on Bodmer driver (https://github.com/Bodmer/TFT_eSPI/)
this one 1.44" red pcb v2.1 (with green tab on screen protector):

works only when ST7735 device is selected (with subselect ST7735_GREENTAB128 // For 128 x 128 display):

when I select ILI9163_DRIVER then diplay starts but show only part of screen:
