Possible to upload to SPIFFS from Arduino over wi-fi?

I am happy to upload sketches from the Arduino IDE to the Wemos D1 Mini. However the "ESP8266 Sketch Data Upload" tool to upload data to SPIFFS memory seems to function only over a serial port. Is there an alternative functioning over wi-fi or is it me?
