That's nothing new. Technically is possible to connect from phone directly to ESP module. But if you need nice html5 interface, secure SSL connection (ESP does not support SSL), data logging, automation functions, connection to other non WiFi sensors, SMS control then you need some kind of base station or some service in cloud. All this can be done with EasyIoT server. EasyIoT server can run on Raspberry Pi or Windows machine. With ESP8266 EasyIoT library you can easily build your own sensors in Arduino IDE.

#8394 I have tried EasyIoT server on windows, but i won't start.
I am using Windows 7 32 bit version

Edit:
I forgot: run as administrator (RTFM :oops: )
It is running fine.
