- Tue Apr 07, 2020 3:13 am #86385 SDIO bus is semi-parallel bus, probably not so fast as USB, but we are talking to slow WiFi standard transceiver in ESP8266 SOC so the throughput is not an issue here. SDIO slave was implemented here to allow SDIO host device to upload the firmware to the SOC RAM/Flash so the ESP can behave like NIC on SDIO. Anyway our use as an freely programmable controller is way better ...
