viscomjim wrote:Hi Mike Bolton, It is good to see that you got up and running and nice enough to share how you did it. Out of curiosity, it looks like there is a 0.9.5 AT firmware https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B_ctPy0pJuW6UmJCQ1RLb0JKUzg&usp=drive_web&tid=0B3dUKfqzZnlwRjFaNTUzZFptbzg#list

Have you given this a try with your method???

Thanks Again!!!!

Answer is no, at least not yet. It was just to get something going for now. Our project will require a new ESP code build and will not use the AT command set anyway.

#8850 Mike B.,

Thank you for the quick response, I've been battling with the firmware updates for a few days now. I will give your method a try. It can't be any worst that what I've been doing so far, I think I've bricked a couple of esp-01's already. I did a cloud update on two of them and now the blue led never stops flashing, even after I remove power and reconnect it the blue led is still flashing and I get loads of garbage on my terminal. Anyway, this is probably the cheapest hardware I’ve bricked while trying to learn it.

Thanks again,

Mike

#12514 This is probably too late, but I have experienced the same problem. I bought two ESP-01s and they worked fine. Then I ordered a handful more from a different supplier and all of them had this same problem (no OK response to AT):
Yv¦xûX :üìèMè-üðªÒóÁìÿ
[Vendor:www.ai-thinker.com Version:0.9.2.4]

ready
AT

I have re-flashed them with the firmware (from the google drive link above) and they now work alright:
bBÊǦÿSbN_Oj]?ÏC*µØ¦N)èù¤
ÔHk

Vendor:www.ai-thinker.com

SDK Version:0.9.5(b1)
Compiled @:Dec 25 2014, 21:50:58
ready
AT

OK

So I believe the supplied 0.9.2.4? firmware is/was a dud.
