#9934 well, what can i say... ;)
I'm using ESP-01 and in the specs I found a note about burning my ESP8266 if I'm using 5V.
So let's wait some other opinion because I don't know what to say!

Have fun!

5V might be a bit reckless, but maybe the chip will be OK on 2 NiZn cells or 1 LiPo cell. Can you test the standby current at 4V? If not, I will do so when I get home today.

idle current for 5v ~65-75ma its same with 3.3v. but deepsleep current is different. for 3.3v=0.035 ma, for 5v=1.8ma. by the way i am trying with esp-01

we'll wait your test result.

:D i dont have adjustable power supply but i wonder one thing. if it have internal regulator like ldo, which voltage is max :)
