#51291 Why? It allways depends on what is required.
For me, my example c) is working as expected.
In general you can't expect battery life like in usual "weather stations", wifi is much more complex and resource demanding than simple 433MHz serial radio, on the other hand it is much more versatile.

For simply transmitting a measured value to a base station, ESP + wifi is unoeconomical and technical overkill. OTOH the chip is powerfull and cheap and combined witch cheap 433MHz radio (wifi disabled) could still be an option.

#51292 I guess I just expected to get more than a few hours out of a simple DHT sensor lol. Did you see this post I am about to order the parts is this going to be worth it?

Also not sure if you saw my question about the multimeter.

Need to find someway to extend the battery as the next devices I am planning on keeping the sensors awake and waking up the esp on detection.

#51293 no need for an extra ATtiny just to power on/off your device, this is exactly what the deep sleep is for.

As I wrote for my case c): it is doing more than your dht and running for over a month now w/o remarkable discharge of the LiIon battery.
