You got it wrong, of course. The capacitor has to be connected between the Vcc and GND.

It actually is I just missed that on the schematic, again I had already explained the set up in the post before. Updated on schematic but had always been the case as I stated from the beginning of the post a few times.

How do you expect the AMS1117 to work? It needs a resistor pair to set the output voltage RTFM.

Thanks that is the first time I have heard that, I will try however none of the tutorial I used when learning how to use it suggested that was required, this is the module. According to what I found you just connect VCC to VOUT.
