#80353 Hi all

As mentioned in my ADD for thermistor topic, I was originally hoping to make my own meat probe but couldn't source the following so ended up buying a digital food thermometer and using the probe from that.

1 a thin hollow metal tube with a sealed pointed end to put a thermistor / thermocouple in and insert into the meat
2. The metal braided wire that connects to it so that it can go into the oven.

Don't suppose anyone else has found anything suitable?

Thanks in advance

No information on the sensing element but I don't think it would be a thermocouple with that connector.

#80364 Thanks very much both. More success than I had :)

Ideally, if I could at least get the braided wire I could then make the length of it as long as needed. Wonder if I could use a headphone style extension cable as the fitting is a phono socket and I guess the length of braid on these would get enough of the way from the main heat but probably not enough away for a battery and the esp - I am hoping to use this also on the BBQ as well as the normal oven.
